This guide is a user-friendly introduction to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), meant for autistic teens and adults who may find that communicating parts of their lives has become difficult, their use of speech is limited, or they are simply curious if AAC might be right for them. It is also for their parents, caregivers, and any providers who support them.

The goal is to help new users understand AAC options and how it can enhance everyday communication. It covers everything they need to know from getting an assessment to exploring AAC options to securing and customizing a system for their specific needs.
